John Rzeznik’s still got it. The Goo Goo Dolls’ founder and frontman is 40 years deep into a life in music and still performs with the passion and poise that his songs deserve, whether the audience is a packed stadium or quiet backyard.
This is a special solo acoustic set that surveys the band's catalog, including early recording “Two Days in February,” 1995’s “Name,” which John calls “the first song I had ever written that was a hit,” and 2002 'Gutterflower' single “Sympathy.” Closing with the mega-hit “Iris,” he states simply:“Everybody knows this song.”
In the backyard, John also embraces his role as an elder statesman, imparting advice and telling the stories behind the songs you know from the first few chords—whether you know you know them or you’ve simply soaked them in from car radios and karaoke bar singalongs.
Thanks to @marshall for the amps and equipment.
