Our 4-door 1965 Chevy Impala has been sitting forgotten for years.
Josh bought this car long before Red Head Garage was even a channel. It was supposed to be the project — the kind you dream about owning — but life, space, and other builds got in the way. Over time, the Impala became a parts donor to keep other projects alive, including our 1970 Pontiac Catalina. The starter disappeared. The gas pedal vanished. Pieces were robbed just to keep other cars moving.
And the Impala never ran.
Until now.
This video is a full revival vlog — not a step-by-step tutorial — showing the real process of bringing a long-neglected classic back to life. There are setbacks, bad decisions, forgotten parts, time jumps, late nights, and moments where we’re not sure if the car even wants to live again.
We chase fuel issues, fight electrical problems, replace missing parts, second-guess everything, and eventually hear this Impala fire for the first time in decades. It’s messy. It’s honest. And it’s exactly how these kinds of revivals actually go.
This isn’t about building a perfect car — it’s about saving one.
The ’65 Impala also isn’t just any project. It’s one of the cars featured in our original Red Head Garage logo and one of Josh’s long-lost dream builds. Getting it to move under its own power again marks the real beginning of this car’s next chapter.
By the end of the video, the Impala is alive, moving, and finally ready for the safety upgrades it desperately needed.
🔧 Brake Upgrades & Road-Ready Improvements
The brake conversion and master cylinder upgrades hinted at in this video were filmed separately as detailed how-to guides.
If you want the technical side of making this car stop safely, you can watch the full brake upgrade series here:

🚗 About the Car
This is a 4-door 1965 Chevy Impala sedan — not a show car, not a clone, and not perfect. Just a big, forgotten GM that deserved another chance.
Here at Red Head Garage, we focus on reviving old cars, fixing questionable decisions, and actually driving the stuff we save.
