Here is a good example of the difference between a Pond Seep and a Pond Leak. On older farm ponds where the ground beneath the pond dam has become saturated over the years, sometimes you will get a ground seep, or pond seep, which is basically water coming up from beneath the ground. The seeps will be more pronounced during wet times of year, but may continue year round. My pond has roughly 3 or 4 seeps, which are really no concern as far as water loss due to the size of the pond (1.5 acres). However, a Pond Leak is a whole different story (check out some of my videos on fixing pond leaks). A leak is a direct conduit of water coming from the pond and exiting the dam. A leak will drain a pond if left unchecked. Thanks for watching.
