Ultima VIII - Why I Don't Always Like This Game

Okay - I was supposed to make a video about Stratos, but it seems that the emulator in its infinite wisdom isn't producing un-choppy video stream. Even in this video, there's a slight jump.
Either way, here's a good graphical illustration of why I don't like Ultima VIII at all times. Part of it is the extremely clumsy movement, especially if you need precision. In this bit, I manage to step into the room in RECORD TIME, showing that yes, sometimes the doors can be navigated through with only minor effort! I crossed the room in quite short time as well! The pains of going down the stairs (involving, for some obscure reason, a leap forward), well, that's a very typical case, though.
(Due to YouTube's censorship policy, one in-game motion involving a potentially Rude Gesture has been deliberately avoided. If you have played the game, you know what I'm talking about.)
I don't feel I'm particularly incompetent. I just don't know how to fine-control the movement in this game.
