Tuberville says military action against Iran may be inevitable: ‘We really have no choice’

Описание: Sen. Tommy Tuberville says he is “for whatever the president wants to do” to get rid of the “corrupt leadership” in Iran.

Tuberville made the remarks in reference to President Donald Trump’s State of The Union Address when he threatened Iran for allegedly trying to build a nuclear weapon.

“These idiots ... will use a nuclear weapon” Tuberville said on Newsmax. “This is a regime that is locked and loaded.”

“We cannot allow them to have” and possibly use long-range weapons against countries where American citizens are present, Tuberville continued.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei called the claim, including Trump’s assertion that 32,000 protesters were killed by the Iranian government in January, a “big lie”.

“This is now being systematically used by the U.S. administration and the war merchants surrounding it, especially the genocidal Zionist entity, to serve their malicious campaign of media disinformation against Iran,” Baqaei said.

The two countries are set to discuss Iran’s uranium enrichment program again soon but Trump has been warned that if he were to order drone strikes Iran will retaliate against U.S. military installations.

Last summer the U.S. bombed several of Iran’s nuclear facilities in an operation Trump asserts “obliterated” the country’s nuclear program.

This claim is in contrast to remarks made last weekend by a senior White House official that Iran is only a week away from bomb-making material.
