Monocef-O CV 200/125 Tablet is a combination antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial infections. It contains cefpodoxime (200mg) and clavulanic acid (125mg). The medication is not effective against viral infections.
Uses
Monocef-O CV 200/125 is used to treat a variety of mild to moderate bacterial infections:
Respiratory tract infections: This includes tonsillitis, pharyngitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinus infections (sinusitis).
Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Ear infections: Such as acute otitis media.
Skin and soft tissue infections.
Sexually transmitted infections: Including gonorrhoea.
Common side effects
Some common side effects may occur when taking Monocef-O CV 200/125:
Diarrhoea
Abdominal or stomach pain
Nausea and vomiting
Headache
Skin rash
Vaginal infections
Safety precautions
Complete the full course: It is critical to finish the entire course of medication as prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve. Stopping prematurely can lead to resistant bacteria.
Take with or without food: The tablet can be taken with or without food for easy administration.
Potential drowsiness: This medicine can cause dizziness or drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
Allergies: Inform your doctor if you have known allergies to antibiotics, particularly cephalosporins.
Children: Monocef-O CV 200/125 is not generally recommended for children under 12.
