What is Awen? Spirituality in Celtic Britain | Welsh Paganism

Описание: I went up to the woods behind my house to talk about what Awen means to me, and share a little about the Awen of modern Druidry and where this term came from. I also talk about ancient Bards of Celtic Britain & the native spirituality of Wales prior to the imperial and religious nation we know Britain as today.

Important to note: Each tribe during the pre-christian period would have had regional spiritual beliefs and practices, this video discusses my interpretation of the Awen based on my studies and my personal experiences.

Awen in the Welsh context is tied to poetry, music and the Welsh language.

This page focuses on decolonising my own being through remembering indigenous, native ways of living in harmony with the natural world through the study of traditional and old ways, here on the lands of Wales, Scotland, Devon, Cornwall, Isle of Man, and Ireland.

For me, this includes looking into how myth, legend, folklore and story remind us how to belong with Earth, from the 'Celtic' world of ancient Britain.
Our spiritual leaders were known as Druids, and today in modern paganism, people are aiming to reconnect to the land here through 'Druidry' which is a modern practice.
