Titled “Ponnupole”, the exhibition explores the origin of gold and the influence it has exerted on society across different eras. The Ponnupole art exhibition is led by Shafeena Yusuff Ali, daughter of Lulu Group Chairman M. A. Yusuff Ali and founder of the Abu Dhabi–based RISK Art Foundation. Ponnupole symbolically highlights the trade and industrial ties between the Arab world and India. The exhibition is particularly notable for the participation of Emirati artists, adding an international dimension to the Biennale.
