This is an attempt to recreate a traditional Swedish song played in a rock version by my first band The Rovers back in 1964. Several Swedish guitar groups had made hits with old traditional song, for example The Violents with "Alpens Ros" and "Kvantingen". We found this to be a good idea and did our version of "Frykdalsdans Nr 2". We played it a couple of times on gigs, only to find the audience found it boring - it was after all 1964 and we soon dropped it, instrumentals were more or less out...
I have done this as true to how we originally played it as I could, Using a Vox AC 30 Top Boost, a Strat -64, a Hagström bass -61, a Hagström Kent, (probably -63) and my old Binson Echo (in bad condition). The squeaky organ sound comes from my Nord electro 4D, originally the organ was a Philicorda, and I have tried to get as close as possible to the original, vintage sound.
After uploading, I realized I should have pressed the mono button on my mixer. This is stereo. (Some kind of...)
Hope you like it, and if you feel like dancing, the proper dance is a "schottis". Can't translate that, neither can Google...
