Dahibara Aloodum is a very famous Street food of Odisha (India) and most favorite breakfast/snack of every Odia. Here the Dahibara (Urad dal dumplings dunked in runny yogurt mix) is topped with Aloodum (Spicy Potato Curry) and chopped onions, sev mixture, touch of black salt and roasted cumin red chilli powder makes this dish very unique and delicious. This is available in every nook and corners of Odisha. Here is an effort by me by bringing this recipe to your kitchen. Happy Cooking!
Few Tips for the soft Vada:
1. Add 1 Tbsp rice (raw) to the urad dal while soaking (helps in absorbing less oil)
2. Wet hands every time shaping the Bara/Vada
3. Fry till each side turns light golden (Do not over fry)
4. Drain from oil and dip in Luke warm water immediately for 15-20 minutes
