When it comes to hardcore New York hip hop from any era, it doesn’t get more pin point in representation than I’d say M.O.P. and throw Onyx in their as well for making the hardest hip hop song in history in slam, placed right next to Ante Up. Don’t forget the remix, which to me was so much more enjoyable to see Busta spit one of his best featured verses, and a young, Remy Ma before anyone even M.O.P. even really knew her. They had chance after chance to clean up and follow the path of a lot of street artist gone marketable, and would’ve gained a lot more to add to their resume, but stayed true to themselves and gained respect instead.
