Pratt, Carl and Lily Pforzheimer Curator of Early Books and Manuscripts at the Harry Ransom Center, as he discusses the history of the hornbook, an educational device that came into widespread use in the sixteenth century and remained a staple of English and early American education into the nineteenth century. Pratt also highlights the five hornbooks from the Ransom Center's collections, including one incredibly rare example.
