ABOUT THIS LIVESTREAM
Virtual Railfan’s live train cameras at Santa Fe Junction in Kansas City, Missouri, capture the action at one of the busiest rail junctions in the United States, hosted by L&W Supply in the West Bottoms area. The cameras, including two 360° PTZ cameras (Top and Bottom), showcase over 60 daily trains across multiple lines: BNSF’s Southern Transcon (former AT&SF, Emporia/Marceline Subs) between Chicago and Los Angeles, BNSF’s Fort Scott Subdivision (former Frisco) to Springfield and Tulsa, and St. Joseph Subdivision (former Burlington Route) to Lincoln, Omaha, and Council Bluffs. Additional lines include Kansas City Southern’s Pittsburgh Subdivision to Joplin and Texarkana, Norfolk Southern’s Kansas City District (former Wabash) to St. Louis, Union Pacific’s Sedalia Subdivision (former Missouri Pacific) to St. Louis, Kansas Subdivision to Topeka, and Falls City Subdivision to Omaha. The Kansas City Terminal (KCT) manages yard transfers, with an ATCS layout available. Amtrak’s Southwest Chief (Chicago-Los Angeles) and Missouri River Runner (Kansas City-St. Louis, wyed at the junction) also pass through. The junction features four main tracks with four diamonds at ground level and connecting tracks in all quadrants. Kansas City Union Station lies just east of the junction.
