Fish pose is an incredible backbend that almost anyone can do...but it confuses almost every student I've ever seen practice it for the first time!
There are so many great benefits to fish pose. It is a great supported back bend that opens up your chest and works your abdominal muscles. It also helps to stimulate your thyroid gland and increase your metabolism!
Here's how to do it:
Lay on your back with your feet on the floor
Place your hands (palms down) under your bum, creating a diamond shape with your thumb and index finger around your tailbone
Press your bum into the floor and lift up from the centre of your chest, pulling your elbows together under you
Remember to keep your bum on the floor
