Resurrecturis are a Progressive Death Metal band formed in Fermo, Marche, Italy in 1990. The band describes themselves as "Among the founding fathers of the Italian death metal scene" and "delivering their own breed of extreme music". They have 4 full-lengths albums amongst other releases and have changed band members many times, with guitarist Carlo Strappa being the band's primary songwriter and only official member (as of 2008) with other roles being filled in by guest and touring musicians (though the band is seemingly inactive with their last post on Facebook being from 2022).
Non Voglio Morire is the band's 3rd full-length album and is "a concept album to be intended as the first chapter of a two-record project" according to Carlo. It was released on May 25th, 2009 on the Casket Music label and came with a DVD including a music video, live footage and other extras. While the album's primary genre is Progressive Death Metal, many different genres are explored on the release with some songs incorporating anything from clean vocals and melodies, to female vocals, acoustic guitars, and other metal genres into their runtimes.
The album was apparently mixed twice as the biography on the band's old website tells a story about how the original "so-called producer" recorded the album with the band for "the best part of 2007" before completely disappearing while working on the mix, "not answering phone calls and emails". He apparently came back "several months" later and presented the band with "a lame mix which he pretends to be an almost complete work", the band immediately rejected the mix before requesting their "recording sessions back, which are finally obtained in April 2008". Not wanting to chance things again, the band contacted "Paolo Ojetti (vocalist of Infernal Poetry, who played bass for Resurrecturis on the “Vital Brutality” tour)... to complete the mix and prepare the album for release".
In 2008 (a year or so before the album was officially released), the band's vocalist at the time (Janos Murri) was "kicked out of Resurrecturis due to his increasingly unprofessional and dishonest behaviour", this album is his last appearance on a Resurrecturis release and his actions are why "From this moment onwards Resurrecturis remains ultimately a project by Carlo Strappa".
The band's discography (amongst other things, including a music video for the song "The Fracture" from this album) is available on their Youtube channel, and their 2015 album is available on Spotify. You can find both here: / resurrecturisvideo https://open.spotify.com/album/44npNH...
