Unlike its neighbour across the border, Carlisle, which has been awash with charter trains this year (or at least since the lifting of pandemic restrictions), Lockerbie sees few specials - so I felt I couldn't miss the scheduled break this afternoon for the Midland Pullman's replenishment stop in the Up Loop immediately south of Lockerbie station.
The train was travelling from Fort William to Reading - a spectacular trip on a glorious sunny day in Dumfries and Galloway - I can't answer for the rest of the country!
