*COMMON MISCONCEPTION*
Cermark does not actually ENGRAVE metal. It marks it. Lets get nerdy for a second! Cermark comes in a liquid (or aerosol....or tape) application, that when applied to metal, allows a thermal reaction to occur between the metals surface and compound. With enough heat, it melts the compound to the metal creating a permanent mark on the surface of the material.
KEY POINTS!
Light coat, full coverage, do NOT oversaturate. A thick coating actually makes it MORE difficult for the material to reach the temperature needed for a strong bond due to the buffer space. Also, let the cermark fully dry. When it engraves, expect the engrave to look a little fuzzy and mushy. Once you wipe off the excess cermark youll see the crisp lines underneath.
