To defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party in the West Bengal Assembly Elections, incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had made an appeal to the voters. The Congress and LEFT have rejected the Trinamool Congress' appeal. The Congress party said that the TMC allowed BJP to strengthen in Bengal and even called her the B-Team of the BJP.
