ENG 201 (Lecture 9.1): Larsen, Du Bois, Double Consciousness

Описание: This set of video lectures supplements my Spring 2014 section of ENG 201: Principles of Literary Study. In this last series, I review our conversations about Nella Larsen's /Passing/ from the perspectives of race studies, new historicism, and Marxist literary criticism. In this video, I introduce W.E.B. Du Bois's seminal concept "double consciousness" and its potential importance for our interpretation of /Passing/'s problematization of race as a cultural construct.
