‘LET NATURE BE’ - Mui-shizen 無為自然- Mui-
The first two characters ‘mu'(無) and 'i’(為) mean ‘No intent’ and the last two characters ‘shi' and 'zen’ form the word ‘Shizen’(自然) which means ‘Nature’ or ‘spontaneous’.
Mui-shizen, therefore means ‘Without intent, Let nature be’ or ‘Let things happen naturally’; it is a phrase influenced by Zen philosophy. These four-character phrases are called ‘yoji-jukugo’ in Japanese.
