Join Emmett on this behind-the-scenes furnace install as he walks you through the process step by step. In this video, he explains what’s happening during an AC and furnace installation, why the furnace needs to be lifted off the floor (and why that’s one of the toughest parts of the job!), and how a furnace actually works inside your home.
Plus, Emmett shares his favourite part of the job and what keeps him passionate about helping homeowners stay comfortable year-round.

Thanks for having me, Emmett. No problem. So what are you doing right now? Right now, I'm just cutting the platinum open to slide the air conditioner coil in inside. Okay, cool. [...5.4s]Yes, [...0.6s] the customer did not have air conditioning previously, so now they'll be a little bit more comfortable in the summertime. [...9.7s] Probably, [...0.5s] probably this part, like hanging the furnace and then getting all the metal to line up properly, I would say [...0.6s] would be the toughest part.So I'm assuming maybe the [...0.5s] homeowner had a problem with flooding, like, the house flooding down here sometimes. So he probably wants it lifted up, [...0.6s] like the old furnace was lifted up too. So they probably want, like, it lifted up. So if it floods, then they don't have to get a new furnace.Cause as soon as your house floods, doesn't matter if the furnace still works or not. And if you go through insurance, they make you replace the furnace [...1.2s] and the hot water tank, and whatever else get, got flooded, [...3.7s] there's the return. So the return pulls, like, the, [...0.7s] the cool air from your house. And then it'll pull it through the blower, run it through the primary and secondary heat exchanger, which heats it up in the secondary. [...1.1s]The secondary runs the extra flu gases through. And that's where you get your extra [...0.6s] efficiency from. Okay, cool. And then it blows the, [...0.7s] blows the hot air through the rest of the system, through the house, through the supply. [...3.5s]The [...1.4s] people I work with [...1.3s] 100%. [...1.5s] All the, everyone in this, [...0.6s] in this trade is a good person. It seems so [...0.7s] for the most part [...1.0s] except ten. [...5.9s] [...7.2s][...7.2s]
