Europa Clipper is the first mission designed to conduct a detailed study of Jupiter’s moon Europa. There’s scientific evidence that the ingredients for life may exist on Europa
right now. The spacecraft will travel 1.8 billion miles (2.9 billion km) to reach Jupiter in April 2030. It will orbit Jupiter, and conduct 49 close flybys of Europa.

INGRID DAUBAR PhD is a planetary scientist that has been part of the Europa Clipper science team since 2016. She is currently an Associate Professor of Research in Planetary Sciences at Brown University, and previously worked at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Her research interests include impact cratering, modern-day geologic processes on other planets, and the geology and exploration of Europa. Dr. Daubar has participated in science and operations on many planetary missions and instruments including Europa Clipper, NASA’s InSight mission to Mars, the HiRISE camera on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the Juno mission to Jupiter, and the European Space Agency’s Hera mission to the Didymos binary asteroid.
