The European Union and China are important partners with a multifaceted and sometimes volatile relationship, which is impacted by bilateral and global developments. In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine have added to and amplified existing political and economic challenges in EU-China relations. How will relations evolve in light of recent developments? What are China’s main objectives in its relationship with Europe? And what is China’s response to crucial EU demands?
At this Sixty Minute Briefing, the newly appointed Ambassador and Head of the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the EU, Fu Cong, set out China’s priorities for its relations with the EU and participated in a question-and-answer session chaired by EPC Senior Adviser Shada Islam.
