A Red car leaves Location A going to Location B at an average rate of 70 mph. At the same time, a Blue car leaves Location B going to Location A at an average rate of 60 mph. If the two locations are 416 miles apart, how long before the two cars meet? How many miles has each traveled before they meet.
In this algebra word problem, it is a Time, Rate, and Distance problem (or specifically an Intersecting Distance problem) where two objects are moving toward each other.
This video includes stop motion animation, animated visuals and illustrations to make solving becomes more fun.
Note: In textbooks, you would find names of places filled in for Location A and B. The rest of the wordings should be similar.
