Meet Inzah, Emily and Lindsay from South Australia Police graduating course 60!

Описание: Today, 13 women and 10 men will graduate as new police officers, boosting service numbers further across the state.
The South Australia Police (SAPOL) Academy Course 60 graduates range in age from 19 to 35 and come from many walks of life.
Graduates have journeyed from a range of employment backgrounds, from professional sports and the fitness industry, to hospitality, retail, Australian Defence Force and other emergency services.
Inzah, who can speak multiple languages, including Farsi, was attracted to policing due to its diversity.
“In South Australia Police, there are numerous pathways for promotion, which I think will be a good source of motivation,” she said.
“I guess the paramount reason for joining SAPOL for me was the ability to make a difference. A small, but meaningful difference in the South Australian community.”
Inzah hopes to work in the Counter Terrorism Security Section, but for now, looks forward to a country posting and immersing herself in a regional community.
Fellow graduate Emily has been surrounded by policing for her entire life.
“All of the events and encounters that I have been exposed to throughout my life have inspired me to pursue a career that so many of my family members currently do, both in South Australia and the Northern Territory,” she said.
“Through hearing of their experiences in both jurisdictions, I have a sound appreciation of how challenging but rewarding being a police officer can be.
“From living at Mataranka Police Station (where her father was based) to family Christmas sharing policing stories, it’s no surprise that I have naturally followed my family’s footsteps.”
Emily enjoyed the camaraderie experienced at the academy and would love to eventually work for the Mounted Operations Unit.
Morgan has taken a natural progression into the service following three and a half years working as a Police Security Officer.
He is similarly supported by family with police experience.
Similarly, graduate Lindsay is no stranger to working as part of a team, having managed a gym for 10 years and playing football in the South Australia National Football League Women (SANFLW).
“These experiences have helped me, as I have been surrounded by people who are leaders, driven, resilient and hold extremely similar values to SAPOL,” she said.
“These traits are something which I hold myself to and have helped throughout my training/career so far.”
Lindsay encouraged future cadets to embrace the many learning opportunities offered at the academy.
“Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Learn to listen and accept feedback, as it’s what will help you grow,” she added.
“Be confident in your abilities and go in open-minded.”
The new police officers will be stationed in metropolitan Adelaide and regional areas, including Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Whyalla, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier and Port Lincoln.
