This video showcases a live real-world test run of an industrial-grade Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) built entirely from the ground up using ROS 2.
The robot features redundant navigation and localization, multi-layer failsafes, sensor fusion, bidirectional microcontroller closed-loop feedback, PID control, and Kalman filter–based state estimation, ensuring reliable and fault-tolerant autonomous operation.
For the AI for Good Youth Challenge, the AMR was integrated with a robotic arm capable of executing autonomous waypoint missions, planting seeds, and segregating fruits, demonstrating real-world agricultural and sustainability-focused applications.
The system was designed, engineered, tested, and validated independently by Vishruth Jinka (Age 14, Class 9E – DPS Whitefield).
This platform is the result of extensive testing, multiple iterations, and over a month of dedicated day-and-night engineering.
📍 Test Location: Yashobhoomi Convention Centre
🤖 Stack: ROS 2 • SLAM • Navigation • Localization • Control Systems • Manipulation
🎯 Focus: Reliability • Safety • Industrial-Grade Autonomy • AI for Good
I would be deeply grateful for any guidance, mentorship, or constructive feedback from professionals and educators in robotics, autonomy, control systems, and intelligent manipulation.
