Different types of olive oil:
Extra Virgin (EVOO) is naturally extracted from olives
Pure olive oil / light olive oil: usually mixed blends with other virgin oils
Don't confuse “light” with lower calorie. It just refers to the taste being slightly lighter.
Benefits of EVOO:
Olive oil is rich in healthy fats. Consuming moderate amounts of Extra Virgin Olive Oil provides us with healthy fats to keep our blood stream healthy and our arteries clean.
Extra virgin olive oil is high in antioxidants like polyphenols to prevent type 2 diabetes, reduce and sometimes eliminate bacteria and viruses that infect humans, decrease the severity of chronic inflammatory diseases in humans and reduce the risk of heart disease.
