Chris Farley was a comedic force to be reckoned with. He hit the ground running at Second City and soon after became a breakout star on SNL with such popular characters as Matt Foley and, well, himself ('The Chris Farley Show'). Audiences loved his charming earnestness and off-the-wall manic energy, which is on full display in his now-classic comedy 'Tommy Boy.' So why was Chris Farley discontent?
Sometimes the same qualities that make somebody a great performer can also destroy them. Farley grew incredibly insecure as he got more successful and eventually gave in to his demons. He died at the same age as fellow SNL legend John Belushi. In this special two-parter of Death in Entertainment, we discuss his highs and lows, and explore what went so wrong in his final year.
