Backing the rhetoric were blockbuster deals: Google announced a $15-billion, five-year investment package, including new undersea cables linking India with the U.S. and the Southern Hemisphere. OpenAI signed a partnership with the Tata Group to build data centres in India, while Anthropic and Infosys agreed to co-develop AI tools for telecom, financial services and enterprise software. Meanwhile, New Delhi announced plans to procure 50,000 additional GPUs within six months — a clear signal that India is racing to scale up compute capacity as the backbone of its AI ambitions. Another major announcement came from the reliance group. They will invest 110 billion dollars in India's AI infrastructure.
