Ingredients
(Serves 4)
For the dumplings:
• Self-raising flour – 200 g (1 ½ cups UK / 1 ⅔ cups US )
• Shredded suet (or cold grated butter) – 100 g (½ cup UK / ½ cup US)
• Baking powder – 1 tsp (5 g / 1 tsp UK / 1 tsp US)
• Salt – ½ tsp (3 g / ½ tsp UK / ½ tsp US)
• Cold water – about 100 ml (100 g / 7 tbsp / ⅓ cup UK / ⅓ cup + 1 tsp US), enough to form a dough
For the soup base:
• Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup – 2 tins (800 g / 2 × 295 ml cans US / 2 × 280 ml cans UK)
• Water – 300 ml (300 g / 1 ¼ cups UK / 1 ⅓ cups US)
• Optional: pinch of dried mixed herbs or black pepper
