The EURO-FLEX Easy ESD Series Interlocking Vinyl Tile Flooring System is a semi glossy, permanently ESD conductive, interlocking vinyl tile. It features an extremely durable and easy to clean conductive wear layer, as well as a fully conductive backing. No adhesives are required. Designed for rapid installation over any existing smooth, hard surface. Installations are fast, odorless, and instantly ready for traffic. It is designed for use in areas that require ESD conductive flooring such as electronics manufacturing facilities, laboratories, healthcare, data rooms, and explosives manufacturing or handling environments.
Permanently conductive it will never need to be waxed. The laser tight interlocking joints provide a conductive path from tile-to-tile so there is no need for any confusing and time-consuming wall-to-wall underlayment grids.
The precision interlocking joints combined with the granular pattern cause the seams to virtually disappear, especially in the darker colors. Finished installations may have the appearance of sheet vinyl or even poured floors.
The tiles are removable and re-deployable. Once the joints are located, the tiles can easily be removed and reinserted, even from within the middle of an installation. Should the need arise, installations may be uninstalled and reinstalled in other locations. It is a permanent, but fully portable ESD flooring system, making it the perfect solution for temporary or leased spaces, as well as over raised access floors. Since the system does not require adhesives it is also the perfect solution for problem subfloors such as contaminated or high moisture concrete.
Additionally, since it can be installed over any hard surface, there is no reason to tear out existing floor coverings such as asbestos tile which saves the expense of abatement processes. This special feature can save thousands of dollars in labor and waste disposal, as well as reduce landfill space.
The standard tile size is 24” x 24” (nominal) with a thickness of three millimeters. Additional sizes and thicknesses are possible, but minimums may apply. A tile thickness of 6 mm is available and required for heavy forklift use. While setting up equipment within the space plywood or Masonite panels may be temporarily laid on top of the three-millimeter-thick version to accommodate forklift traffic.
Always align the corners before locking the tiles together. For an even faster, more efficient installation use a flat, smooth, 30 inch section of a wood two-by-four as a tapping block. Watch the video to see how easy this is to do. Large open spaces can be covered at a rate of approximately three hundred and seventy-five square feet per hour! Rapid installation!
The ESD tiles are offered in four standard colors: Clean White, Light Gray, Dark Gray, and Charcoal Black. Seams are less visible with the darker colors. Corresponding regular non-ESD tiles are available as well.
The tiles are directional. Directional markings can be found on the back of each tile. The tiles should be installed in the same direction. Most installations will begin at the center of the room and work outward. Other starting points are possible. Because the tiles visually-blend together so well, tiles should be placed face down with the backing side up until ready to place and tap them into position. The tiles can be cut to size using a standard tile cutter or with a standard utility knife and straight edge.
Wall base should be installed to cover the required expansion space along the walls and other fixed objects. Wall base can be installed directly over the grounding tape. The grounding tape can also be painted.
Use flooring transitions that will allow space for expansion. Cut and install under door jambs when possible.
The tiles can be mechanically cleaned. The joints of the 3-millimeter-thick tiles are suitable for chair castors, carts, moderate pallet jack traffic and some electric vehicles. The tiles work extremely well with the drag chains on material handling equipment. A tile thickness of 6-millimeters is required for heavy forklift use. While setting up equipment within the space plywood or Masonite panels may be temporarily laid on top of the three-millimeter-thick version to accommodate forklift traffic.
Conductive flooring is not a consumer flooring and requires heel straps with 1 MΩ resistors for user protection.
