4.7 magnitude earthquake near Utah-Wyoming border shakes Wasatch Front

Описание: A 4.7 magnitude earthquake near the Utah-Wyoming border was felt across the Wasatch Front early Thursday morning.

According to information from the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake struck about 25 miles south of Evanston, Wyoming, across the Utah border, just before 8 a.m.

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reported two additional earthquakes - a 2.4 magnitude just minutes before the 4.7, and a third 2.0 magnitude quake recorded a moment after. Foreshocks like the 2.4 quake only happen in about 5% of earthquakes worldwide.
