Little Castle Lake is a gorgeous spot with an excellent view of Mount Shasta from the slope on the south end. It's a great place to bird watch and enjoy the peace and quiet. Probably 99 percent of hikers go to nearby Heart Lake, leaving this Little Castle Lake for the knowing few.
