Iran’s Ambassador to the IAEA, Reza Najafi, said U.S. and Israeli airstrikes hit Iran’s Natanz enrichment facility. This clashes with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi’s assertion that there is no indication any Iranian nuclear installations have been damaged. Najafi identified Natanz as the target, noting it is Iran’s main uranium enrichment site and that material may have been on site when last year’s strikes occurred; he cited Israel’s June 13 attack on the above-ground Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant and a U.S. strike on June 22 hitting underground facilities. Grossi said the IAEA has not observed damage to facilities such as Bushehr or the Tehran Research Reactor and is trying to contact Iranian authorities but has received no response, calling for military restraint and noting no abnormal radiation levels near borders. Najafi condemned the strikes as unlawful and urged condemnation by the IAEA Board, criticizing Trump.
