The Year is 1972,
The Ship, SS Poseidon is sailing to New York on New Years eve. And that night, a large wave hits the ship turning it over. Then the passengers try to escape by going up to the bottom of the ship. A few people die on their way. They successfully get out when a rescue crew picks them up and they live happily ever after :D.
