Frogs pop up in and around most ponds at some point or other. At my ponds, a colony of northern green frogs (lithobates clamitans) has decided to take up residence.
Pond frogs’ favorite pastimes are (in this order):
1) Staring at you from the safety of their favorite rock or crevice
2) Eating vast quantities of insects (you may be surprised at how much they can fit in their mouths)
3) Talking to each other (every species of frog sounds different)
4) Going for a swim
