The first time I filed down the tip of my soldering iron I found that the tip would not take solder because when I applied heat to the tip at oxidized making it impossible for the solder to adhere to the copper. After doing a little bit of research I found a way to wrap the tip of my iron before I applied the heat. I am excited to report that this technique seems to have worked. I now have a soldering iron that should work on my next few projects.
