Colton McGowan: The 6 Year Old Painter

Описание: When Colton McGowan was feeling abdominal pain, his parents were concerned. What started as a trip to the local urgent care clinic became a lengthy, anxiety-filled journey for the six-year-old and his family.


Colton was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and while highly-treatable, the diagnosis was frightening. As Colton progressed along his treatment journey, enduring four rounds of chemotherapy before finally being delcared cancer-free, an unexpected and lifelong companion joined Colton on his path.

On his last day as an inpatient, Colton, who already had a burgeoning interest in art inspired by watching Bob Ross videos with his dad, was introduced to painting. It became immediately clear that Colton had a natural talent.

Art and creative expression became a part of the McGowan family during Colton's treatment. Now, with his cancer behind him, Colton can carry the gift of art with him wherever he goes.
