(The Great Separation).

ਕਹਾਣੀ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ):

1704 ਵਿੱਚ, Anandpur Sahib ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, Guru Gobind Singh Ji ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ Sarsa River ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਠੰਢੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਚਨ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਠੰਢੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਹੰਗਾਮੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਗਿਆ:

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦੇ ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।

Mata Gujri Ji ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਛੋਟੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦੇ — Baba Zorawar Singh Ji ਅਤੇ Baba Fateh Singh Ji — ਬਾਕੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਗਏ।

ਉਹ ਕੜਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਠੰਢ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਨੌਕਰ ਗੰਗੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ।

ਇਹ ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ ਜਿਥੋਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

The Story:
In 1704, after leaving Anandpur Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his followers reached the banks of the Sarsa River. It was a freezing, dark night, and the river was overflowing.

Even though the enemy had promised not to attack, they broke their word and started a battle.
In the middle of the cold water and the chaos of the fight, the Guru’s family was split apart:
Guru Ji and his two elder sons went one way.

Mata Gujri Ji and the two youngest sons (Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji) were separated from the rest.

They were left alone in the cold with only a servant named Gangu.
This was the start of the great sacrifices that changed Sikh history forever.
