Nepal Among World’s Top Contributors to UN Peacekeeping, Over 5,400 Personnel Serving Globally

Nepal remains one of the world’s largest contributors to UN Peacekeeping, deploying over 5,400 Nepali Army and Nepal Police personnel across 10 active missions worldwide.

According to the UN, more than 120 countries send troops to peacekeeping missions, but Nepal consistently stands at the forefront due to its strong commitment and decades-long service. Nepali peacekeepers are currently the 5th largest contributors globally, operating in some of the world’s most challenging conflict zones.

The UN praised Nepali peacekeepers for their courage, dedication, and sacrifices, noting that they serve under harsh conditions and high personal risk while fulfilling the global mandate of “Serving for Peace.”

For over six decades, Nepali men and women have played an essential role in building stability, protecting civilians, and supporting humanitarian efforts across Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.

The UN statement highlighted:
