In this project, we build an Arduino radar system using a servo motor, an ultrasonic sensor, and a laser pointer. The servo sweeps from 15° to 165°, scanning the area in front of it. Whenever the ultrasonic sensor detects an object at a distance of 30cm or less, the scanning automatically stops, and the laser turns on to point directly at the detected object.
The radar data is also sent to the Processing IDE, where it is visualized in real time as a moving radar display, showing both the scanning angle and the distance of objects. This makes it easy to track obstacles visually while also having a laser lock-on system.
