Soon he realised that an enormous earthquake has shaken Kathmandu and Nepal. It was left onto him to soldier the recovery. And rest they say is history. Top bureaucrat and current consul general of Nepal in Kolkata, Ek Narayan Aryal was entrusted to pick up the pieces after the disaster. In a candid interview with Editor in chief of ANM News, Avijit Nandi Majumdar, Aryal mentions that Bureaucrats are supposed to address people's woes. Politicians are sometimes crooked. Aryal let go a secret on his post earth quake repair work stating that his prime move was to order people who had come from various parts of Nepal to leave Kathmandu after the disaster. He had done this to facilitate proper rescue and treatment of the victims. Aryal said he has severely punished the corrupt and never yielded to any politician.

He feels government should make proper use of bureaucrats. He is one of the senior most bureaucrat and he feels he will be able to work hard for people. Let’s listen to more of Aryal speak.
