Replacing the Bobbin Winder Cam on the Futura bobbin winding system. The Bobbin Winder Cam is the small plastic piece that lifts the drive pin up to wind the bobbin. This plastic piece can break or wear over time and fail to raise the drive pin properly on the Futura bobbin, causing trouble with bobbin winding. When replacing this part it is important to make sure that the winding shaft moves freely and is lifted as high as possible for best drive of the bobbin, but also retracts fully so that it does not tangle thread when sewing.
This troubleshooting works for all these machines with the Futura bobbin system: Futura 900, 920, and 925; Creative Touch 1030 and 1036; Athena 1200 and 2000; and Touchtronic 2000, 2001, 2005, and 2010.
