Update - Gratification Behavior

Our darling will be 4 years old in August, and she has completely outgrown this. It has been almost a year since she last (noticeably) did this, and I feel comfortable saying that she does not do this anymore.


Our darling at at 29 months, still has gratification behavior episodes occasionally. We have realized that she only has these while she is seated upright, with something between her legs - in her booster seat at the table, in a high chair, or in her car seat. Where her arm used to be more involved in the episodes, it is not so much these days - she just arches her back and moves her legs. She grunts and sighs a little, and we are always able to "snap her out of it" by redirecting her attention, or just taking her out of whatever she is sitting in. The number of episodes has drastically dropped from infancy - don't know if this is because she is outgrowing it, or simply because she isn't put in a seated position as much as when she was an infant. We aren't concerned about this behavior so much anymore. Her development (socially, physically, mentally, behaviorally) is all perfectly normal. This is just something that she does, and we figure that she will outgrow it entirely at some point.
