Описание: Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed that Iran will continue fighting and keep the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz closed amid the ongoing war with the United States and Israel.

In his first remarks since succeeding his slain father Ali Khamenei, the statement read out on Iranian state television said the closure of the key maritime route would remain a tool to pressure Iran’s enemies.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy shipping lanes, and continued disruption there has raised fears of a major shock to global oil supplies and rising energy prices.
