This song is a very special one to me(see words below). It was one of the first songs I ever recorded. It is a very emotional song to me, and I hardly ever get through it without crying. It speaks of family love, and how although we so often disappoint the ones we love the most, that love is the most enduring love of all. I dedicate this video and song to my parents on their 57th wedding anniversary. My parents have shown each other and their family the most unconditional, sacrificial love for which I am eternally grateful.
We filmed this video last year at my family's lake home. We have been going to this lake since I was three. This walls of this home have seen my brother, sister, and me grow up. I have watched my own daughter and my brother and sister's children have the same adventures and fun that I did as a child.
Jimmy Webb wrote this song and it has since been recorded by the likes of Glenn Campbell, Amy Grant, Shawn Colvin, and Nanci Griffith. The message and emotion of this song are universal-transcending all sorts of barriers. Please enjoy.
