Using the BTS Skytrain is one of the best ways to get around Bangkok. It's fast, safe, affordable and very convenient as it runs through all the important downtown districts and major transport hubs.
If you're planning on traveling to Bangkok, or you've just arrived, you'll quickly learn just how congested the city is. The BTS Skytrain, among other public transit options, is one of the easiest and best ways to explore the city.
It has stops at many popular tourist attractions, amazing restaurants, entertainment, shopping centres and markets.
The BTS Skytrain also connects with the underground MRT subway, the Airport Link and has connecting stops at the Chao Phraya Express Boats and shuttle van pickup points.
Note, there are 2 BTS lines.
The SILOM line runs west to south, between the National Stadium in the Siam shopping area and Bang Wa in Thonburi.
The SUKHUMVIT line runs north to east from Mo Chit to Bearing.
The two lines meet at Siam Station, and also connect at two points with the underground (MRT) – at Sala Daeng Station (Silom Line) and Asok Station (Sukhumvit Line).
The trains come very often - normally every 3 - 6 minutes.
Hours:
6:30am to midnight. The last train leaves between 23:30 and 23:50.
