In the beautiful Columbia River Gorge you will find the Wild and Scenic stretch of the White Salmon River that offers non-stop whitewater action and clear glacier melt from Mt. Adams. Starting your rafting experience in BZ Corner it won't take long to get hooked on the excitement of this gorgeous river. The very first rapid, class III+ "Top Drop" will give you just a little taste of the whitewater action there is to come. Paddling through the basalt-walled gorge you'll find yourself thinking "Is there possibly a more beautiful or magical place?" Just before you find yourself drifting-off into dreamland you paddle through class III "Stairstep" rapid which never seems to disappoint. Don't worry the ride isn't over yet, class V "Husum Falls" is an optional exhilarating 10-foot waterfall close to the end of the trip and is guaranteed to take your breath away (Must be 12 years old for the waterfall). If you opt out of taking the plunge and experiencing the thrill of Husum Falls your rafting trip isn't over yet, there's still 2 more miles of excitement ahead. Riding the "bull" through "Rattlesnake" rapid is a highlight for most rafting guests on the White Salmon River.
In 1986 the White Salmon River was designated Wild & Scenic for many reasons including preserving salmon populations, and river restoration. In October of 2011 history was made and the removal of the Condit Dam was underway. After nearly a century of the existence of Condit Dam, PacifiCorp finalized the initiative and now in 2013 the White Salmon River is free-flowing once again. This is a whitewater rafting trip that you don't want to miss out on. So what are you waiting for? Book your White Salmon River adventure today, It will truly be a memorable experience.
