Just before you find yourself drifting-off into dreamland you paddle through class III "Stairstep" rapid which never seems to disappoint. Don't worry the ride isn't over yet,class V "Husum Falls" is an optional exhilarating 10-foot waterfall close to the end of the trip and is guaranteed to take your breath away (Must be 12 years old for the waterfall). In 1986 the White Salmon River was designated Wild & Scenic for many reasons including preserving salmon populations, and river restoration.
