"The Lord's My Shepherd" is a Christian hymn. It is a metrical psalm commonly attributed to the English Puritan Francis Rous and based on the text of Psalm 23 in the Bible. The hymn first appeared in the Scots Metrical Psalter in 1650.This is also the favorite hymn of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II
It is commonly sung to the tune Crimond, named after Crimond Church in the Aberdeenshire town of Crimond and is generally credited to Jessie Seymour Irvine.The Crimond setting has proved to be very popular, and has been sung at many notable religious occasions, such as the Wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten in 1947,for which occasion a special descant was composed
