Shimo is a reptilian Titan created by Legendary Pictures and is set to appear as the secondary antagonist of the upcoming 2024 film, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
The name of the creature was revealed to be "Shimo" on the boxing of a toy in Playmate's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire toy line. The name is based on the Japanese name & word Shimo, which means "frost", "white", or "cold" when translated to English. The name also means "hole" or "abyss" in Swahili.
As Kong investigated a bone-filled cave in the Hollow Earth, he uncovered several massive cave paintings depicting different monsters. The last displayed a battle between Godzilla and Shimo.
